TRENDING: The Scarf Top

Hey peeps! Today I am back with a trending posting. I decided that I’m going to do a little series on here called “TRENDING.” Basically, when I’m loving a trend i’ll just come on here and break it down for your guys. So for my first post in this series I thought I’d do

The Scarf Top

I’ve been seeing all of the biggest bloggers and Instagrammers wearing this lately and I can’t believe I didn’t think to do it sooner. There are a few different ways you can tie your scarf but for the sake of this post I’m going to stick with the easiest way and the way that provides the most coverage.

I’ve been seeing girls wear Gucci scarves, Louis Vuitton scarves and the list goes on. But you don’t need to spend $300 plus on a scarf to do this. The scarf I wore in this outfit is from Forever21 but I will link a bunch of options.

I paired this light pink, black, and white paisley scarf with dark grey denim shorts. I personally chose a pair of distressed shorts to give a little edge and personality to the outfit. I like to make all of my outfits really represent me and my personality.

How To Wear: I just took my square satin scarf and folded it into a triangle. Then I made sure to wear a sticky bra, or bathing suit top. Ya never know what could happen,it is satin and we are a little sweaty in this summer heat. Then I simply just tied it in a double knot in the back. And voila a cute tube top!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope it was helpful! I’ll talk to you all in my next post.

Until next time…xoxo

Summer Outfits; Casual to Dressy

Long time no post…I know, I know. So much has changed this year! Between starting at a new school, taking on more responsibility at work, and putting all of my attention into that, it has really taken away from me doing the things that I love. But I am so ready to be back and posting all about what I’m loving, not loving, and everything in between.

To kick off the summer I’m doing a good ol’

Outfit Ideas Post

First up is just a simple tank and shorts. I love wearing as little clothes as possible in the summer months because it is literally scorching hot out here in NY. So thin light weight clothes are a must for me. For this outfit, I’m wearing this light blue floral horizontal neckline tank with a pair of light wash mom shortsProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

This top would also look so good dressed up with white denim flares or even a light wash denim skirt.

Next up, I have a very similar outfit but I decided to dress it up a little by pairing a simple tank with a denim skirt.Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I have been loving the color yellow this summer. If its yellow ill buy it. I have been living in this top. It is so girly but casual at the same time. Pairing it with a denim skirt makes it a little more dressy. BUT, what I love about it is, if I wear it with just some denim shorts or jeans it’s the perfect casual put together look.

Lastly, I have another casual put together look. I’m wearing this one shoulder polka dot top (linked similar) with some basic mom shorts.

Once again I love that I can wear this top with just about any bottoms. It can be dressed up or down. I’m usually casual for the most part but I love having pieces in my wardrobe that I can incorporate into dressier outfits. I’m all about getting the most use out of the least amount of pieces lately.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post!

I can’t wait to start posting more again. I have a trendy outfit post coming soon, be on the look out 🙂

Until next time….xoxo

Cheers to the Best Summer Yet

Hey everyone! So Labor Day is the official end of summer and I just wanted to make this post to reflect back on the summer I’ve had. This summer has definitely been the most eventful and lively summers I’ve probably ever had. I am beyond thankful for every opportunity I was given this summer.

Starting out I want to recognize and reflect on my personal growth in my career. I started my blogging and fashion journey back in January and I was so nervous to put myself out there. Now I can’t imagine my life without it. I truly have found myself and what I love and I have never felt happier about working and growing up. I got an amazing job that I love waking up and coming too. There isn’t a day that I don’t want to work. Work doesn’t feel like work and that is the biggest goal I have achieved this summer. Diving head first into what I love and focusing heavily on my career goals has been amazing.

This summer I have learned so much about the people around me and our relationships. I have the absolute best group of friends who truly understand me and encourage me to be my best self. As I get older I realize how important healthy relationships are. Sometimes we think because people have been in our lives so long that they have to stay there, and that is not the case. I want every person in my life to have a positive affect on it. My life has no room for negativity and I have figured out who stays and who goes. I think the biggest thing I learned about myself this summer pertaining to relationships is, the relationship I have with myself is so important. It was really hard for me to grow apart from someone who was in my life for so long but, I learned so much about myself losing that person. Loss is really gain sometimes and that is so important for me to remember.

The trips I went on this summer definitely gave me the travel bug. I can’t wait to explore more of the world and see all the beauty it has to offer. I am so extremely blessed to have been able to do all of the things I did this summer. I want to thank my friends and family for being so supportive and helping me with anything they can. They have made the biggest difference in my life and I truly could not be more thankful!

Cheers to the best summer yet, and to many more in the future!

Sweater Dress Weather

Hey everyone, Happy Labor Day! Long time no post, my first week back to school was very eventful and I wanted to give myself some time to get into the swing of things. But I’m back and ready to talk all things fashion!

Today I am showing you an OOTD that I wore this past weekend to the farmers market and work. The weather here in upstate New York has done a complete 180. It has been in the 50’s and really chilly this past week. I’m not quite ready to bring out my sweaters and vests yet but it definitely isn’t t-shirt weather anymore.

This particular day I wore this amazing tank sweater dress! I am completely obsessed with this dress and I’m excited to style a million different ways this fall. It’s a speckled grey knit dress and it’s perfect for layering. It is from the boutique I work at Copper Fox. I paired it with a light wash distressed denim jacket from H&M. If you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram you know I have brought this jacket through every season. I love layering this under and over other jackets and sweaters. Since it was about 60 degrees this day it was perfect for the little bit of warmth that I needed but not too heavy. I finished the look with white slip on sneakers from Steve Madden.Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

How I Edit my Instagram Pictures

Hey everyone, happy Friday! I hope you’ve all had a good week. I have been enjoying my last couple of days of summer before I head back to the books. Back to school means, more outfit posts and back to school outfit ideas coming very soon! Get excited.

So for today’s post, I am showing you how I edit my Instagram pictures. I don’t do much but I definitely have a few apps and steps that I use on every picture.

Camera – Most of my photos are taken on my iPhone 7 plus. The quality of the 7 plus camera is great so I take advantage of that as much as I can. Sometimes I shoot with photographers and they do the editing so I wont edit professional pictures at all.

Apps – I usually take my photo into Snapseed first. In snapseed I use the White Balance tool. This tool allows you to add or take away temperature. Depending on the picture I will add a little or take some away. I like my feed to be bright but, warm toned. After using the White Balance tool, I use the Brush tool to either add or take away saturation to a certain area of the picture. I like that this tool allows you to add certain things to specific parts of your picture. So if my legs look a little dull I can just use this too to add a little saturation to just legs and not the entire picture. I also use snapseed to get rid of things in the background of my photo. If there is a cigarette on the ground or a coffee cup I use the Healing tool to get rid of it.

The next app I use is VSCO. After saving my photo from snapseed I take it into VSCO and add a filter. I use the filter A6 on every photo and I usually bring it down to about 5-5.5. After I add the filter I turn the exposure up a little depending on the picture. I like to keep it around 1. I also bring the contrast down to about 0.5. Sometimes I will add a little bit of saturation but it depends on the picture. If the picture is a little dull I will add some if the picture is vibrant I will take some away. Like I said before I like to keep my photos bright but very warm toned.

That is all I do to edit my pictures, like I said I don’t do too much but these steps definitely make a huge difference. The last app I use is called UNUM this app is great for making sure your photos flow with one another. You can move photos around to see what would look best with your theme or to see if a picture matches your theme.

Hope this was helpful! Leave your Instagram handles in the comments I would love to check them out! 🙂

Off Duty Model Inspired Look

Happy Friday y’all! Today’s post is a street chic look. I love graphic t-shirts, they’re so comfortable and really define “your style.” Whether you choose a cute saying, a band tee, or anything else, a graphic t-shirt really tells a lot about you as a person. I love pairing them with jeans, sweats, leggings and even skirts.

For this particular outfit I paired this tee with my beloved vintage style jeans that I mentioned in me Favorite Jeans – OOTD post. To make the shirt a little more fitted I tied it in a knot to the side so you still can see what it says. My jeans are from Express as well as my loafers. My t-shirt is from Urban Outfitters. I completed the outfit with my everyday Kate Spade bag and some sunnies from a local boutique I work at Copper Fox. I really love the “off duty model” look and I think this outfit really captures that vibe.

Distressed Denim & Blush

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve had a good week so far. I couldn’t be more thrilled that it is almost the weekend. Today I am sharing another outfit of the day.

Like I said in my Favorite Jeans – OOTD post I found the best vintage style jeans. This is another pair of those vintage jeans. I love the all of the detailing on these, between the distressing and the two toned bottom. These are also from Express they’re affordable and fit me so well.

This outfit is super casual as I am most days. I wore some rose gold slides by Steve Madden and a brown Michael Kors bag for some structure. On top I have on a blush pink tank from Forever 21. I have been wearing this tank in every color all summer long. I am beyond obsessed with the straight neckline. I think it makes my outfits look a little more put together, rather than wearing an actual cami.

Where are your favorite jeans from? I’d love to check them out 🙂

Favorite Jeans – OOTD

Hey everyone! Today I am back with an OOTD. I have finally found vintage style jeans that fit me! This has been such a struggle for me because I have thighs and a butt, but I have no waist. So when I found these gems I bought three pairs..oops! Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I find that vintage style jeans just make your outfit a little more relaxed and put together looking. I was really into the super skinny high-rise jeans last year but my style has definitely changed over the last few months. These jeans are from Express and they are 50% off right now! So if you’re interested definitely check out the link. These jeans are flattering both in the front and back!

I paired these jeans with a simple black button up body suit from Pacsun. I could of worn any style top with these and it would of looked great. I love that these jeans look great with sandals, sneakers, flats, and even heels. I have said many times before I love pieces that can be dressed up or down. These jeans will definitely work for a night time look as well. I completed the look with a skinny red belt from Target. Slide on mules from Express and my everyday Kate Spade bag.
